Foundation Plan and Foundation Details drawing sheet show location of structural underpinning members, concrete footings, and concrete piers when used. Main purpose for foundation structure is to distribute weight down from building to through the soil. Our floor systems for this project are concrete first floor slab and wood floor truss for second floor. Each floor system requires a foundation to support floor systems and building structure.
Design of concrete footings and floor systems are influenced by vertical loads and weight, regional differences, soil bearing values, and in some instances geological reports. Our foundation plan here shows first floor plan overlayed and lightly shaded above and below footings are indicated with dashed lines around the outer edges and or exterior edges of plan shape. Interior thickened slab is also indicated with dashed lines for interior features that need extra support with footings such as, staircase weight and loads and braced wall lines for lateral loads.
Section key symbol shows where to find the specific section cut of foundations detail, it’s like taking a slice through the building so that you can see the innermost parts of the buildings structure. Each section detail applies to the foundation structure for each different area around the building from exterior walls edge, porch, garage wall and garage door, and interior features that need extra support. Foundation general notes describe concrete strength, finish, reinforcement, cure rate, and footing depths in relation to natural grade.
